Creeper Photo: Water Catcher

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

You were adorable. It is amazing to see how such a simple thing as a spraying water fountain can amuse and bring happiness to someone. You were having so much fun trying to grab the water as it shot up. You seemed to have so much fun even when you saw that the water simply slipped away because you knew in a few seconds more chances to catch it would arise time and time again. It was refreshing to see you having fun even though you never really could succeed.

Wave Runner

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

Everyone as a kid was a wave runner. Playing tag with the in coming waves. It makes me smile to watch a little kid doing exactly what I used to do. Dancing with water on a sunny day. Sometimes you have to be reminded of what makes you happy in life. I had forgotten how much I missed that and I have to thank this kid for reminding me that you don’t have to be a little kid to be a wave runner.

Creeper Photo: Wave Watching Skater Boy

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

I saw you walking around in the crowd with your buddies and your skateboards. You joined the crowd to watch the waves crash on the rocks. The waves were huge the other day but you hopped over the railing anyway. You went out onto the edge even though it was dangerous. You just sat down on your skateboard and watched. You were interesting, why was it so important for you to be right out there next to the water when the waves were crashing so close. I bet you got water on you. I had to leave though so I never got to ask, maybe I will next time I see a skater-boy wave watching on a stormy day.

Alice (Tea Leaf Prophecy)

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Little Alice
Sitting in a tea cup
Swimming in a sea
Of tea leaf prophecy
Sinking into a
Deceiving warmth
Of false security
A spider’s lullaby
So sweet and comforting
You could die
And never know it
Little Alice
Takes a big breath
And goes under
She opens her eyes
Peering through a
Refracted world
Where lines are blurred
And everything shines
Where you are
Simply floating
No heaviness here
No weight
Holding you down
She blinks
In slow motion
As her hair floats
A halo framing her face
Little Alice
Is weightless
As her lungs
Begin to ache
But she still
Stays under
As her eyes
Start to tear
And her mind
Begins to fog
Here the world
Is so beautiful
Your souls only mirror
She opens her mouth
The last bubble escapes
Floating to the surface
For a moment it waits
Just below the surface
But then it pops
A whisper escapes it
But no one hears
Little Alice
Is sleeping
In her little tea cup
Peaceful and beautiful
A sleeping angel
As a sparrow lands
Balancing on a line
Between our world and the next
On the tea cup’s rim
Singing a tea leaf prophecy
Of a water angel
Not afraid to die
Little Alice
Was the brave one
Who stood up in the end
Took a look
Into the abyss
And jumped right in

Balance

Monday, October 5th, 2009

I stand above a river
On a thin plank of wood
Below the rapids rage
Above the sky is blue
I hold my arms out
As if I could fly
I squeeze my eyes shut
And imagine what it is to die
How easy would it be
To totter off to one side
Loose my balance and fall
Into the churning waters
Would anyone notice
Would anyone care
If I jumped
Would I scream
From fear or the rush
The finality of it all
Would I smile
As time seems to erase
When you fall
For a moment you fly
The wind rushing past your face
And then there is nothing at all
So I open my eyes
And let out a sigh
Put one foot in front of the other
And start to move forward again
Slowly but surely
Across this balance beam
Thin as a knife
Only the pure can make it
Only the true survive
Am I strong enough
Or will my sin
Cause me to take
That final dive
Walking on a knifes edge
This is my final test
To put one foot in front of the other
And never look down
To balance on my shoulders
The worlds good and evil
And never loose my footing
So I keep my head held up high
Eyes only on my goal
Of redemption
In the blood red sky

Lemon Water

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

I really, really hate it when at a restaurant they put lemon slices into your glasses of water. It ruins the water entirely.

I have four theories as to why someone might commit this heinous crime.

  1. They are punishing us for not spending ridiculously large amounts on sodas or other beverages we don’t necessarily need but want. If they ruin the water, the customers need to drink something, as in my case while eating at a spicy thai restaurant, so the customers will be forced to either endure the gross lemon water or spend large sums of money on something else.
  2. They are hiding something. Don’t know what. Don’t know why. They use the horrible lemon taste to mask some sort of other taste for god knows what reason. Then I am forced to wonder, whatever could be so wrong with their water, unless they take it from a restroom or some other unbeknownst place. (My mom mentioned this second reason and I agreed whole heartedly)
  3. They just plain don’t like us. They for some unknown reason just want our taste buds to burn and suffer.
  4. I don’t even believe this option is possible but here it is. They believe it actually tastes good. I shudder at the thought of someone believing this and hope that I am wrong.

So please, no more lemons in my water. There is only one thing that bugs me more than lemons in water, is limes in coke. WHY? So now they not only ruin the free water but the coke you paid three bucks for? Don’t get me started, it just makes me sick.

I know some of you are thinking this is pointless and wonder, why doesn’t she just take it out and stop whining. My reply, it doesn’t fix the problem. I don’t know how they genetically engineer these lemons to spread there juices the second it hits the water, but once the lemon goes in, the taste never leaves. Not to mention the uncouth methods for retrieving the drowning lemon. You can either stick your whole hand in and fish around or dig around with a utensil for a while cussing until you can spear it and drag it out. Take your pick, either way the lemon taste still contaminates it entirely.

This isn’t just because I dislike leomons, which isn’t true, I enjoy things with lemon flavors, or things with lemon in it. JUST NOT MY WATER. So again, please no more lemons in my water.
