Santa Cruz roadtrip - Spokane and Bend, Oregon
August 7, 2009
A quick trip through Spokane, Washington before spending the whole day traveling through Oregon. The aliens have landed!
Looks like the wind is really blowing over the Columbia River.
Monica is such a llama lover, though it's hard to deny the appeal of these incredibly adorable creatures.
Then of course there's the spectacular shoe tree in Shaniko, Oregon. Yet another favorite of Monica's.
Then it's into the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Charlotte told me this was one of her favorite places during the trip.
The chipmunks sure seem to like it hear as well.
Plenty of beautiful views from the forestry center in Lava Butte. And a few more odd photos thrown in after leaving the area.
Then it's the river walk in Bend, Oregon where Gracie can work off a little energy chasing the local geese.
The girls spotted a couple of houses with some very interesting sculptures in the yard for everyone to enjoy.
I'm happy with photos of the local flowers.
The river walk continues with more sights including fly fishing ponds, unique shops, a place just for Monica called O Mo Mo, a pretty parrot, and a really creepy head in a window.
It's dinner downtown at the Soba House before calling it another long day.
