Twisted Twister

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

It seems as if all of the most childish and supposedly innocent things are the most twisted. One of the most twisted is the kids game Twister. It seems so innocent, but it actually is a perverse and awkward game unlike any other. Hidden under the guise of childhood innocence, it is deviously deceptive in its twisted ways.

Case and point, need I say more? Yes, I do. The main problem about this game is it’s total lack of boundary space. There is no such thing as personal space in this game, with arms and legs crossing and criss crossing across numerous people. Nothing is sacred.

This game is meant for little chidren, so for teengaers it was slightly difficult to fit on the mat making the space issue even more of a problem as you can see. There is alsways something awkward waiting around the corner in this game.

The main way to win is to get into such an awkward position that your oppenent can not continue due to death by laughter.

It just makes me wonder the people who invented this game, they must be twisted people indeed. The name twister is perfect for what this game actually is, a perverted and twisted thing. But damn is it fun to watch!

Shout Out: Philomena

Monday, November 1st, 2010

This post has been a long time coming, my shout out of the day today is Philomena! She is one of the coolest people in the world, she even has her own talk show at school called Phridays with Phil. Yes, she is that cool. She sticks with me even in my strangest of times, and loves Rocky Horror as much as me, which is quite a feat, believe me. She has sat with me in spanish for about the past three years and has gotten me through the full IB years and many golf sessions. Yes, Philomena child, you are a wonderful person and I love you!! See you in spanish 🙂

At my high school we had a Harry Potter themed day for a rally. My junior class was Griffindor and many of my friends got really excited.

Clearly.

They really got dressed up and had fun. Me? I don’t really get Harry Potter, magic isn’t my thing. I am my own level of mystical being ;). Here are some of my favorite outfits my friends were wearing.

The Incompetence of Doctors and the Joy of Shopping

Alright so let me explain. I had an interesting day today, it consisted of several parts:

  1. School ( well duh, I go to school everyday) In school I did nothing but worry about the next step of the day.
  2. Doctor. Yes I went up to Stanford to go see a Hematologist to check out my blood. This was horrible, I thought I wasn’t getting blood drawn but instead I get there and they saw, Oh, go down to the lab and get blood drawn. I hate doing this, I had four drawn but I have to give credit where credit is due, the woman did a fantastic job. Then we go back up to the office where I meet the doctor. He basically tells me I am not anemic at all, and that isn’t the problem. Which I promptly ask, Then what is? His answer? I don’t know I am just a hematologist. My basic point, my other doctor has been B.S.ing me about being really anemic, I don’t even have to take the pills any more. Little to say, I am pissed out of my mind about wasting my own time, this new doctors time, and my parents money on an untrue diagnosis. Biggest part, I have no idea what is wrong with me and no leads to what happens next. Yeah, story of my life. Next step gets better though, this is why I love my mom
  3. Shopping. Do I need to say more? Apparently yes. For those of you that know me, you know I am not a huge fan of shopping. But this trip to Anthropology in Palo Alto cheered me right up. No, I was not dress shopping or buying ridiculously priced clothes. I was trying on extremely strange clothes and having my mom take pictures of me. Yes that is where the pictures came from. It was a lot of fun and cheered me up. Then I went around the store taking pictures for inspiration. I feel better now thanks to my mom.

What next? Not sure, but I have some funny pictures now that I will be posting over the next few days. Weird clothes are pretty great. The blue coat thing, I don’t even know what that was, it had no arm holes except on the very bottom. And who doesn’t love odd felt and crocheted hats? I put like four different ridiculously decorated headbands on my head at once and it looked really funny!

Anyway, I am frustrated to hell with doctors currently and have pretty much lost faith in them. Oh well, at least I have some good pictures out of this.

P.S. I now know I don’t have a brain tumor…

Does this photo really need an explanation besides the fact that this cat is hideous. This makes me laugh so much every time I see it. Cats can truly be horrifying at times.

Here are some funny road signs along our way to Michigan. Strange things that people put on these signs. I wonder what possessed these people to do this.

Police on the Off Ramp

Monday, August 31st, 2009

I live in a closed in neighborhood off of an exit ramp, and you know what really cracks me up? Is when I see police sitting right there on the off ramp.

I come driving down the freeway, and I turn my blinker on to exit and start slowing down. Then right there off on the side of the exit is a cop. It wasn’t just a one time thing, I see cops there all the time. They just sit there and when you round the corner and hit the brakes wondering why the heck they would be hiding there. Personally it scares the crap out of me because for some reason I never expect it. Here are my main problems with this that make me laugh every time I see a cop waiting there. This is what goes through my mind.

  1. First thought is: Shit I need to slow down, normally this is the most important response to a cop, but the problem is that you are exiting. You get off the freeway going 65 mph and you can’t truly be expected to go from 65 to 35 in the three second span of the off ramp.
  2. My second thought: Would they really pull me over right here? They can’t seriously be trying to catch speeders because f they are, that is the wrong spot. Is it even legal to pull someone over when they are reducing speed on an off ramp? I would think so, because it is the transition spot between freeway speed and normal. If that is the case, this is my next thought.
  3. If they aren’t there to pull me over, why are they there? Is that the new hang out for cops or something? I just don’t get it. Maybe they are hiding from the other cops so they don’t actually have to work because they are almost always sitting there. Doing nothing. It just makes me laugh and wonder what is going through their heads.

Saddest part, sometimes I see people pulled over there by the cops. That probably means the cops chased them off the freeway and pulled them over on the ramp. That is some serious bad luck. I am glad I have never been pulled over.

Got to say, if I got pulled over right before I was going to exit and slow down, I would totally be pissed off. I mean you would almost be there, and then you see those lights and you curse the closest thing you can see. Namely whatever is hanging from your rearview mirror. Blame that, it makes you feel better. Just yell at as you pull over and wack it a few times. Then act super nice and innocent to the cop. As soon as he leaves we all know you will be cussing your head off at nothing.

Maybe next time I see a cop there I will pull over and ask him what he is doing, and get an answer to my problem. Maybe I will speed past them just to see if they will pull me over. Either way, those cops will still be there and I will still be wondering what that cop is doing on an off ramp to nowhere.
