This was a strange combination of the elegant colors of a sari and the manufactured colors of a theme park. The bubble-gum pinks and orange creamsicle with the elegance of a deep blue. Yes, this is where cultures meet and ideas clash. I rather enjoy this, when things don’t work together but somehow manage to co-exist. In the small place where these two things meet there is an understanding, a harmony that is not found anywhere else.

Creeper Photo: Mantra
Sunday, August 29th, 2010You were sitting out by the Boardwalk when a friend and I walked by. You had a mantra on a cardboard sign in front of you. It was nice to read it and talk with you. Thanks for the mantra and the picture, keep Santa Cruz weird.
Creeper Photo: Carousel Wedding
Monday, November 30th, 2009I guess you got married today, congratulations. You waited in line like everyone else with all your bridesmaids around you. I wonder how it feels, did you feel free or did you know this might be your last moment of childhood leaving you behind. I loved your roses and I bet your wedding was beautiful. I wish you a good marriage and good luck because not everything will be a carousel ride.
Ocean Sunset
Sunday, November 29th, 2009I went for a walk along West Cliff down to the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz to get some photos. The adventure was close to a failure. I couldn’t get a good parking spot because I always pick the days were West Cliff is the most packed and took forever walking down to the Boardwalk. Finally when I got there the sun was setting so I basically had to run back to my car because I ddin’t want to be out alone in the dark.
Would you like to see the blisters on my feet?
Well I got some good photos, but it seems my gut was correct in wanting to be out of the dark in the Beach Flats because an hour later someone was murdered there. Kind of scary, I guess blisters are better than being dead. An interesting night, maybe next time my adventure will go better.
